New outdoor information available

Nielsen, working in conjunction with OMANZ, has recently added a new layer of information to the out-of-home advertising expenditure report in AIS (Advertising Information Services).  This data will better allow users to segment the market and provide them more meaningful data when planning an OOH campaign.

Five new platform definitions have been created by which advertising spend data for this medium can be accessed.

These have been defined as:

  • TRANSPORT: Comprising transit and airport advertising
  • LIFESTYLE: Comprising shopping centres, malls and tertiary institutions
  • BILLBOARD – 25sqm+
  • BILLBOARD – < 25sqm
  • STREET: Comprising bus shelters, kiosks and free standing units
