The Boards of the Out of Home Media Association Aotearoa (OOHMAA) and Calibre Audience Measurement Limited (CAML) are pleased to announce the appointment of Kath Mitchell as Chief Executive Officer, effective early July.
Kath Mitchell joins OOHMAA and CAML from her role as General Manager of the Independent Media Agencies of New Zealand. She brings a wealth of industry experience and leadership, having held senior positions at TVNZ, where she led trade marketing for over a decade and played a pivotal role in the development of ThinkTV in the local market. Prior to this, Kath held leadership roles at American Express, Air New Zealand, and Sky City.
Paul Maher, Independent Chair of OOHMAA and CAML, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome Kath as the new CEO of OOHMAA and Calibre. Kath’s extensive and highly relevant experience, combined with her energy and strong industry relationships, make her an ideal leader for this next phase. With the imminent launch of our unified audience measurement service, this is a pivotal and exciting time for the Out of Home industry. Kath’s appointment is a significant step in driving continued growth and innovation across the sector.”
In her new role, Mitchell will oversee a growing team, including the addition of a product manager to lead the rollout of the new Audience Measurement System (AMS) and a marketing role focused on supporting the sector’s continued expansion.
Mitchell said, “I am incredibly excited to lead this next chapter for the Out of Home industry. It is the fastest-growing media channel in New Zealand in every sense; revenue, audiences and coverage across Aotearoa. The creative and commercial potential is immense. I am extremely passionate about media and look forward to working with Paul and the team to build on this strong momentum.”
Mitchell succeeds Natasha O’Connor, who has led OOHMAA through a transformative period. Maher added: “We are extremely grateful to Natasha for her leadership and the invaluable contribution she has made to the industry’s current position.”
