oOh!media goes ‘behind the smile’ in latest campaign with Voice of Hope

As part of its ongoing partnership with Voices of Hope, oOh!media New Zealand is showing its support to the charity by assisting to bring awareness to its latest

exhibition, ‘Behind the Smile’, with an interactive special build and dedicated screen time on its digital network in Tāmaki Makaurau.

‘Behind The Smile’ was designed to raise awareness about mental health in Aotearoa. Shot by internationally renowned New Zealand photographer, Tom Gould, capturing 10 portraits of Kiwis in their happy place. The images have then been turned into an experiential exhibition in which the public can come and listen on a headset to the individuals’ stories that go with the image. These raw and sometimes emotional accounts share the personal endeavours of many Kiwis, exploring the hidden stories beneath their smiles.

To further amplify this campaign, oOh!media has installed a special build on Custom St East in Auckland CBD, including a Large Format bus shelter wrap and an interactive sound panel that plays a 10 second clip from the profiled Kiwis.

Genevieve Mora, co-founder of Voices of Hope, says this campaign is beautiful and raw. “These shared lived experiences are so important to talk about; a shared problem is a problem halved. We want to remind Kiwis, through the bravery of others, that our challenges do not define who we are, and it is not a sign of weakness to speak up.”

Nick Vile, General Manager from oOh!media says, “It is incredible to see these Kiwis’’ vulnerability and share their stories with the community. We are delighted to be supporting Voices of Hope for another year, providing these stories with the capabilities to be shared further than just the exhibition space but through to the community as well.”

The special build will be live until 8 March on Custom St East, Auckland CBD.
