Out of Home Never Looked So Good - February

Our monthly celebration of bold creatives and clients from Aotearoa and around the world who have embraced and amplified the power of Out of Home through their attention-demanding campaigns.

We hope you enjoy the examples we’ve chosen locally and internationally, which we felt best used Out of Home static and digital formats to deliver some genuinely eye-catching campaigns. Maybe one of these will be the catalyst for your next great creative idea.

We would love to see your genius at work; send us your campaign, or enter your campaign directly into our OOHMAA Award’s - The Speccies that opens on 18th March.

BURGER KING

Aotearoa: Burger King’s Whopper Your Way campaign demonstrates how powerful large tasty looking food shots can be. Seeing visually stimulating images of food can increase the amount of the hormone ghrelin in the blood, which then makes your stomach feel hungry and grumble. The bigger, the better for creating this effect we say.

SPARK

Aotearoa: Spark has leveraged the JCDecaux Airport setting to explore data possibilities, driving innovation and delivering relevant travel content. They initiated a campaign utilising flight data via JCDecaux’s API capabilities to forecast the origins of arriving audiences. Tailored creative is presented in the traveller's language, with options ranging from G'Day to Aloha, ensuring maximum impact. The creative content alternates between English and the chosen language based on the incoming flight.

BIC

International: Who knew an ad for lighters could be so entertaining! In its latest campaign, BIC is promoting its EZ Reach Lighter range by pairing two iconic celebrities who cover all bases when it comes to lighter use: Martha Stewart and Snoop Dog.

The campaign ran in a number of countries; we’ve featured the Melbourne campaign activated by Elise Hedley Dale at Media Words and PIER Marketing, which commanded attention across Melbourne with high-impact formats, including a Station Domination at Southern Cross Station, a Tram Wrap, a Tram shelter wrap, and Digital Large and Small Format. In NZ the campaign ran predominantly across Large Format Digital Billboards.

Whether you use it to light candles like Martha Stewart or to light other things like Snoop Dog, this humorous campaign ensures BIC is top-of-mind.

KFC

Aotearoa: KFC used highly engaging large format executions for their "6 & Shout" campaign with the added component of 3d creative to showcase KFC products in the most eyecatching way.

UBER EATS

BIBLE APP

North America: We couldn’t find much on who created this campaign but what we do know is the copywriter is brilliant. They've used humour to engage with an audience that potentially wouldn't have given an ad for a Bible app a second glance and gave us a giggle.
