$50K grant to boost Māori business visibility

oOh!media New Zealand and Whāriki Māori Business Network have launched Te Whakatairanga Grant.

This new initiative offers Māori-owned businesses the chance to win a $50,000 media package, designed to promote their brand and kaupapa across oOh!’s extensive digital network.

The grant aims to spotlight Māori enterprise in the public domain. It will also support growth through increased visibility and storytelling at scale.

“Te Whakatairanga Grant is about amplifying the voices and values of Māori businesses while also unlocking real commercial opportunity,” says Mark Banbrook, oOh!media NZ national sales director.

“Through our extensive network, we connect brands with millions of New Zealanders daily. We’re also proud to partner with Whāriki to help Māori enterprises expand their reach and strengthen their presence in public spaces.”

Applications close on May 22. The winner will be announced on May 28.

The prize is a tailored campaign and access to oOh!’s nationwide digital network, including street furniture and retail panels.

“This partnership reflects the power of mahi tahi and the value of visibility,” says Renée Smith, GM of Whāriki Māori Business Network.

“Our members are doing incredible values-led mahi. And Te Whakatairanga provides an opportunity to be seen and heard across the motu at scale. We’re grateful to oOh!media for partnering with us to help uplift pakihi Māori.

The winning campaign must be delivered by October 1, 2025, and applicants must be current Whāriki members at the time of entry.
