oOh!media adds to its retail footprint in East Auckland

oOh!media New Zealand continues its focus on delivering an audience to advertisers with an extension of its retail network into two new locations, including the latest $250M+ centre in East Auckland, Ormiston Town Centre (OTC), as well as Meadowlands Shopping Plaza, which has provided the East Auckland community with more than 25 years of service.

oOh!media has installed its first digital-only retail centre with 11 new digital UHD screens at Ormiston Town Centre, and a further two new at Meadowlands Shopping Plaza. This deployment provides advertisers with even more opportunities to reach and connect with their target audiences in new geographical locations, extending oOh!’s reach across the Auckland network, and continuing to increase its digital advertising infrastructure within the Out of Home space.

oOh!media New Zealand General Manager Nick Vile says “We’re pleased to be expanding our Retail network to the Ormiston Town Centre and the Meadowlands Shopping Plaza. Alongside our extensive coverage in the road reserve through our partnership with Auckland Transport, these new centres will provide premium advertising spaces within East Auckland, adding to the 2.5million Kiwis 15+ that Retail reaches each month”. *

oOh!’s expansion is a reflection of the continued growth within the Retail environment, as centres evolve the role they play in people’s lives, becoming community hubs through integration with residential and commercial developments, plus the huge range of events that centre owners are providing for their communities each year. Overall Retail advertising revenue is up almost 50% since 2019, and as a channel currently makes up 10.8% of all Out of Home revenue in New Zealand. *

Vile adds, “Expanding our Retail network is important as Retail OOH as a channel is growing internationally as advertisers seek opportunities to engage with quality audiences while they are in an open and positive mindset, and the effect this has on their campaign outcomes. This coupled with the pedestrian audience and full motion capabilities make Retail an important network for influencing consumer behaviour and purchase decisions close to a huge number of key points of interest."

Opening back in March 2021, the new Ormiston Town Centre delivered by Todd Property Group in partnership with Panuku Development Auckland, offers supermarkets, gyms, a cinema complex, department stores, food and beverage outlets, and a mix of health and beauty and specialty services, catering for the fast-growing suburbs of Ormiston and Flatbush, providing the perfect opportunity for oOh! to offer great visibility to clients.

Ormiston Town Centre is the home to high-profile tenants including two supermarkets; New World & Pak’n’Save as well as six major retailers (including 2Degrees, ASB, Hoyts, Life Pharmacy, Noel Leeming, The Warehouse), ensuring huge visibility and opportunity for current and future partners. Meadowlands Shopping Plaza is a well-established centre that has been part of the community for over 25 years, situated on a busy four-way intersection with affluent surrounding suburbs.

The latest oOh!media panels went live on 11th July 2022.
